Job DescriptionSUMMARY The purpose of the Librarian is to enrich, inform and assist students and instructors in their pursuit of academic and professional goals. RESPONSIBILITIES 1) Manage textbook bank, including check in and check out process 2) Responsible for monthly ordering of textbooks and materials from publishers and vendors 3) Accurately maintain and monitor inventory and circulation of all library materials 4) Perform collection development, acquisition, and cataloging of materials for a start-up library–grow collection of textbooks, reference, circulating materials, and periodicals 5) Perform reference duties and introduce students to the library and its resources 6) Create and implement new procedures for library efficiency and management 7) Meet with instructors to encourage library usage 8) Develop and implement information literacy workshops 9) Promote leisure reading to student body 10) Attend individual, department and staff meetings and/or trainings 11) Hold regular library hours, min 32 hours/week, one evening per week, weekends rarely required 12) Enforce college regulations/policies 13) Other related duties as assigned
