Job Description
The Children’s Library Associate is responsible for children’s programs and reference in the Youth Services Unit. The position also assists patrons and promotes literacy. The position’s primary responsibilities are: Maintains a working knowledge of all aspects of the library’s automated system that pertains to this position Plans and implements two weekly preschool story times Serves as back-up programmer for all children’s and young adult programs Creates public relations materials to promote Youth Services’ programming Maintains a broad knowledge of children’s and young adult books and other media Provides reference and advisory services to patrons in the area of children’s and young adult literature Assists Head of Youth Services with collection development and processing of new acquisitions Attends work-related professional development classes, webinars, conferences, meetings and training sessions Completes other duties as assigned or as needed and requestedThe Community
