Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Essential duties include, but are not limited to: * Knowledge of the key factors of early literacy, including Every Child Ready to Read. * Experience planning and presenting storytimes to a variety of groups and ages. * Ability to translate children\'s needs and interests into effective library services and programs. * Knowledge of trends in library services to children and children\'s literature. * Ability to maintain and cultivate contact with schools, teachers, community stakeholders, and other library systems. * Experience conducting community outreach to children, parents, caregivers, and educators. * Ability to participate in cross-functional teams to accomplish goals and objectives. * Ability to maintain a flexible schedule. * Ability to connect and engage with children and caregivers of diverse backgrounds and varying interests. * Ability to advocate for children both in the library and in the community. Qualifications: Experience working with children, caregivers, educators, and community groups. Strong presentation and instructional skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Bachelor\'s Degree. Public Library experience preferred. Spanish language fluency preferred.Additional Info & Requirements
