JOB OPENING: Head Librarian II – Benson, MN GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Directs and coordinates activities of a medium sized library including staff supervision, budgeting, collection development and other activities related to the operation and management of a library. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Experience with supervising and coordinating the work of library personnel. • Fundamental knowledge of and experience with library science systems, principles, and procedures. • Knowledge of current and emerging technologies and their application to library services. • Demonstrated example of leadership and decision making skills/abilities. • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of study and at least two years of related work experience that includes some supervisory or management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience necessary to perform the essential duties of the job. Master’s degree in Library Science or related field is preferred. Position Open Until Filled HOURS: Hours per week: currently average 40 hours per week Appointment range: $17.33 - $24.64 per hour DOQ.
