Job Description

Performs mid-level professional duties under the general direction of a Librarian III and will direct the Adult Services Division in the absence of the Librarian III. This position requires working a minimum of one evening per week and one weekend (Saturday & Sunday) per month. Oversees collection development in areas assigned from print, electronic, and media collections to include evaluating, selecting, and recommending for purchase, and weeding these collections. Searches for, locates and retrieves information/materials in answer to reference questions. Explains the use of equipment including the online catalog, databases, microform reader-printers and scanner, and eReaders. Provides bibliographic instruction and tours to individuals and groups. Assists with the training and development of staff in the Adult Services Division.

Additional Info & Requirements

Two (2) years previous experience equivalent to Librarian level required. Master’s degree in Librarianship may substitute for work experience. Reference desk experience highly desired.
