SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Catalogs book and electronic resources; handles special project cataloging; , does batch record loading of bibliographic records; devotes significant amount of hours to Digital Repository work, including processing objects, and assigning metadata.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Two years college/Associate's degree or equivalent work experience plus a minimum of two years of related experience; proficient with computer software programs-including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Web browsers, and file management; knowledge of information systems, specialized library software including library management systems, and expertise in management of bibliographic records; knowledge of OCLC, MARC and other electronic coding systems; well-organized, attention to detail, and ability to work with bibliographic records for extended periods of time; ability to balance multiple priorities and work in a collegial team environment; excellent interpersonal communication skills. Physical requirements include finger and wrist dexterity and hand/eye coordination to perform keyboard functions; considerable sitting; frequent stooping, bending and standing; moderate physical effort (lifting up to 40 pounds).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree; cataloging experience; experience using MARC, AACR2, RDA and LC classification software, OCLC, Innovative Interfaces, Metadata standards such as MODS and LinkedData.
