Job Description
Sorts library items according to classification codes and returns them to shelves, files or other designated storage areas. Process involves use of an automated sorting machine. Reads shelves for correct location of materials; re-shelves out-of-order materials; shifts and straightens materials on shelves. Locates and processes specific materials, and uses/maintains various library machines. Provides general housekeeping services as directed, including straightening the library after patron use and handling donated materials.
The Community
The Golden Library, located at 1019 10th Street in Golden was Jefferson County's first public library. This library is located on the scenic banks of Clear Creek in Golden. The Golden Library offers big city service but with a small town feel! Under close supervision, will work 12-16 hpw performing clerical work, involving sorting and re-shelving of materials, reading of shelves, operating an automated material handler, and performing miscellaneous tasks to keep the collections in order.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule which is subject to change, including weekends as required.
All applicants must take a written test to be considered for employment. Testing for the Golden Library will be held on: Tuesday Feb. 18, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Golden Library.
Must be 16 years or older and have the ability to file alphabetically and numerically; to lift, reach and stoop. No prior experience is required.
