Job Description

• Provides reference assistance to library patrons via electronic means, by telephone, and/or in person • Assist in the coordination of digital resources and services • Assist in the planning, creation of guidelines, selection, implementation and organization of digital projects and other projects, which are a part of the Online & Outreach Library • Support the capture and conversion of digital objects in a variety of formats, such as the digitization of photographs, audio files, video files, printed material • Oversee and provide backup to technical staff who perform the archiving of the digital objects • Assist in researching, reviewing and analyzing vendor products and selecting and recommending electronic material for purchase • Design, develop and deliver training and training materials for the staff in the use of the Internet, Library electronic resources and the integrated library system through classroom (lab/lecture) techniques and self-instructional techniques (such as web-based tutorials). Deliver training for the public as a backup to the Patron Education Librarian • Will participate in and may chair staff meetings, library committees, and task forces as assigned

Jefferson County Public Library is pleased to announce an opening for our new Digital Resources Librarian position. As a position in the Online and Outreach Library, the person will work to identify and create new digital collections as well as contributing to the selection and marketing of our electronic resources. Two years of experience in any of the following: working with digitization projects, experience with virtual reference systems, or designing and delivering training for adult learners.
