JOB OPENING: Head Librarian II – Spicer/New London (MN) Public Libraries
Pioneerland Library System seeks a Head Librarian to direct and coordinate activities of two small libraries in west central Minnesota. Responsibilities include staff supervision, budgeting, collection development and all other activities related to the operation and management of a library.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Experience with supervising and coordinating the work of library personnel.
- Fundamental knowledge of and experience with library science systems, principles, and procedures.
- Knowledge of current and emerging technologies and their application to library services.
- Demonstrated example of leadership and decision making skills/abilities.
- Strong Customer Service and interpersonal skills
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of study and a minimum of two years related work experience that includes some supervisory or management experience. Master’s degree in Library Science or related field is preferred. Recent MLS graduates are encouraged to apply.
HOURS: Hours per week: This position is currently 35 hours per week with the possibility of future opportunity for increased hours/responsibility.
Appointment range: $20.09 – $21.35 per hour DOQ. Competitive benefit package includes Minnesota Retirement (PERA).
