Job Description

Elementary Teacher Librarian. Denver Public Schools. 2007-2008 school year. Denver Public Schools has 3 openings for Elementary Teacher Librarians for the 2007-2008 school year. All teacher librarians new to DPS in 2007-2008 will be on the new nationally recognized teacher compensation program, ProComp, which will allow teachers the opportunity to make more money over the course of their careers than traditional teacher compensation systems. DPS offers a full schedule of benefits. Applicants need to have or be eligible for a valid Colorado teaching license and a Colorado Library Media endorsement. Denver Public Schools accepts ten (10) years of teaching experience in the last ten (10) years. DPS occasionally accept applicants who are qualified for the Colorado Department of Education alternative licensure program for School Librarian K-12. These applicants are usually hired after all highly qualified candidates. The District is especially interested in those applicants with skills in Spanish. Please send your resume and cover letter to Jody Gehrig, Director of Libraries, Denver Public Schools, jody_gehrig@dps.k12.org, FAX to 720-423-8100, phone 720-423-8101.
