The Adult Services Outreach Librarian provides outstanding customer service throughout Jefferson County and becomes familiar with the unique communities within the county. The successful candidate is confident troubleshooting tablets and devices, is comfortable teaching computer skills to new users, is passionate about reader’s advisory, and enjoys building community partnerships.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The Adult Services Outreach Librarian has a passion for working with adults. This positon is responsible for providing community outreach, both in person and digitally throughout Jefferson County. They cultivate connections with area organizations, businesses and community stakeholders. They are passionate about reading and media and market adult library resources and services at community events and within the library system. They work with other cross-functional teams to accomplish goals and objectives for the library system.
This positon is vital to the success of the Book a Librarian program and provides one-on-one library assistance to library customers. They have a strong knowledge of tablets, e-readers and other personal technology devices and enjoy teaching new technology users. They perform moderately complex research, enjoy challenging reference questions, and refer customers to relevant resources available in the library and in the community. They connect with the business community and are comfortable providing outreach and research services to small businesses. They use high-level customer service skills, are patient, and understanding. As needed, they help customers locate materials in the library, check in and out items, and generally contribute to the positive and inviting atmosphere at all of the Jefferson County Libraries.
Position must comply with laws governing patron privacy and confidentiality under CRS24-90-119, and the Code of Ethics of the American Library Association, as well as ADA governing public access to space and technology.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a valid driver's license, if you are from out of state, you must have a valid Colorado driver's license within 30 days of hire date. Offer of employment contingent on criminal history, MVR check and education verification. May be required to work some evenings, weekends and minor holidays.
