Job Description

Chester Fritz Library seeks a creative, flexible, team oriented and technologically savvy professional reference librarian to assist in developing a user-centered library that supports the teaching and research mission of the University. This individual will:

  • Provide direct reference assistance and guidance to all campus library users at a general desk and virtually through chat & email.
  • Provides basic and advanced instructional services to general introductory courses and assigned academic departments, in a variety of settings, in person and online.
  • Serves as a liaison bibliographer to assigned academic departments assisting in collection development to meet the information needs for faculty and students.

Additional Info & Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate master’s degree from an American Library Association accredited program.
  • Relevant academic or research library experience.
  • Successful completion of a criminal history background check.
  • Provide 3 references.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience providing reference services.
  • Degree in one of the following areas: education or the sciences.
  • Knowledge or skills in emerging instructional technologies.
  • Knowledge or experience in collection development.
  • Strong communication and public service skills.

Minimum Hiring Salary: $47,000 plus/year, Exempt, Full-Time, Benefitted.
