As an integral part of the Discovery and Access Team, UALR seeks a collaborative, innovative, and user-focused individual for the newly created position of Library Systems and Metadata Specialist (R97098). The Specialist will manage the university’s integrated library system and collaboratively develop and support workflows for standardizing and integrating various metadata sources. The team is committed to mentoring and providing ILS (Sierra) training for the right candidate, so the position is ideal for new graduates or for librarians seeking a change in specialization. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree. A master’s degree from an ALA-accredited program is preferred. Experience working in a library setting (via professional experience or internship) is also desirable.

UALR is a vibrant, community-engaged metropolitan research university with almost 12,000 students. The Collections and Archives Division comprises the university library and two active archives centers, and we are positioning the division to meet the needs of the university and 21st-century students by focusing on discovery, access, and digital initiatives. The university is located in Little Rock, Arkansas, the heart of the state's business, government, arts, and culture life. From a rich view of its history to a visible commitment to the technological future and from its myriad options for outdoor activities to its nightlife and entertainment options, Little Rock (www.littlerock.com) and UALR (ualr.edu) make a great place to call home.

Application materials must be submitted through the online application system.
