Job DescriptionThis full-time SCBOCES contract position serves the staff and offenders in a medium-security Colorado Department of Corrections facility library. The individual selected to fill this position will have an outstanding opportunity to make a difference as a librarian and impact patrons' lives. 95% of the offenders use the LCF library. Under the direction of a Library Technician III, supervise the daily operation of a busy library providing public/school-type (not law) library service to adult male offenders and DOC personnel. The duties include: provide reference and information services; provide readers' advisory services; hire, train, and supervise offender library assistants; perform library computer functions using the automated library management system (date entry, circulation, catalog maintenance, and printed reports); monitor the behavior of offender patrons.

21+ years of age. Must successfully complete the Department of Corrections Basic Training Academy. Application process includes a urinalysis and background investigation for clearance to work in a correctional facility. No correctional knowledge or experience is required.
