Job Description
Job Overview:
This is a 9-month temporary appointment and will not lead to a permanent position. This position will provide direct administrative support to the Library Director. This position will indirectly support other library employees through administrative duties related to the operation of the Auraria Library.
- Responsible for logistics of library sponsored events including: room reservation, catering, facilities, security, parking and communication.
- Maintains calendar for the Library Director.
- Develops and maintains efficient and confidential record-keeping and filing systems.
- Provides support for hiring and onboarding new employees.
- Serves as backup for HR related data entry.
- Processes conference registration and reimbursements for staff professional development requests.
- Answer the Libraries main telephone line.
Compensation: $17-$20/hr commensurate with skills and experience.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week. Monday through Friday. Hours are flexible between 7:30am and 5:00pm.
Benefits: There are no benefits associated with this position.
Screening Date: This position is open until filled. Screening will begin immediately.
Start Date: As soon after screening as possible.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Administrative assistant experience.

The Auraria Library is located on the Auraria Campus in downtown Denver, Colorado and is administered by the University of Colorado Denver. The Library serves 45,000 students from three institutions of higher education on the Auraria Campus – University of Colorado Denver, Metropolitan State University of Denver, and Community College of Denver. The Library welcomes over 900,000 visitors each year.
