Job Description

Looking for a highly rewarding and exciting position serving your professional colleagues? Amigos Library Services, serving primarily the Southwestern United States, is looking for a Continuing Education Librarian (Trainer) with a combination of library and instructional skills. Penchant for variety and versatility preferred. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist staff at Amigos member libraries through training (in-person and using distance learning technologies); consulting; and, support on a combination of services that might include cataloging, reference, metadata, database and internet searching, virtual and electronic services, public access computers, or/and customer service. Design and develop courses. Apply instructional design to courses for innovative online environments.

For additional information about Amigos and staff benefits visit Amigos website at www.amigos.org REQUIREMENTS: MLS from an ALA accredited library school & 3 years experience. Travel 30% to 50%. Thorough knowledge of MARC formats or broad Internet proficiency including retrieval and use of Internet-based information as well as web publishing technologies and standards. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Ability to work on word processing, presentations, database, spreadsheet software (Current Windows operating system). High energy level; work well under pressure with a sense of urgency to meet schedules and goals. Flexibility required for maintaining multiple projects with frequent interruptions. Ability to work well with others. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills required to interact with training groups and make presentations. Self-reliant and willing to travel. Willingness to adjust and keep pace with changes in business and marketplace environment.
