The Shaker Heights (OH) Public Library seeks a creative and dedicated leader to serve as Library Director. Shaker Heights is a friendly and diverse city bordering Cleveland. As one of Cleveland’s oldest suburbs, it was a planned community, envisioned as a suburban oasis from the industrial environment of its large neighbor. Today residents enjoy the plentiful green spaces, range of housing options and great schools that resulted from decades of careful planning. Plus, they are just minutes away from the many amenities offered by Greater Cleveland!
The library serves approximately 32,300 residents from a Main Library and one branch location. Residents are passionate about the library and it is a huge presence in the community. Per-capita circulation is extremely high, and there is a healthy demand for many different programs and services to meet the needs of the diverse population. The library is part of CLEVNET, a consortium of more than 40 library systems in Northeast Ohio that share resources and a catalog.
