Job Description
Illinois College’s Schewe Library invites applications for a full-time, permanent position as a Digital Services Librarian.
The Digital Services Librarian will manage the library’s digital resources in order that faculty, students, and staff can leverage the full suite of library resources available to them. In particular, the Digital Services Librarian will devote a significant portion of their time to managing the library’s databases, integrated library system, and website. Additionally, the Digital Services Librarian will be an active collaborator in the library’s instructional programs, and will help develop scholarly publishing and digital humanities pedagogy.
This position will appeal to a librarian who values collaboration, innovation, and variety in their work. As a small library, Schewe takes pride in its ability to adapt and respond to changes in the academic climate, and we are looking for someone who shares this service philosophy.

Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate degree from an American Library Association (ALA)-accredited institution.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; can clearly and succinctly communicate with faculty, students, and staff.
- Experience with new and/or progressive technologies, especially in a library environment.
- Works independently and collaboratively as part of a small library team.
- Enthusiasm about working with students, faculty, and staff.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to self-direct.
- Intercultural competency and the ability to work well with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to realizing Illinois College’s mission and vision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional librarian experience in an academic library.
- System or database administration experience in a library environment.
- Instructional experience in a library or classroom environment.
- Familiarity with, or knowledge of, the Ex Libris Voyager integrated library system (ILS).
- Familiarity with, or knowledge of, the Moodle content management system (CMS).
- Familiarity with, or knowledge of, geospatial information systems (GIS) tools.
- Experience with, or knowledge of, grant writing practices.
