Job Description

• Master’s degree in library science from an ALA-accredited program • Minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible administrative experience in an academic library • Scholastic and service credentials sufficient for the award of tenure at the rank of Professor • Demonstrated commitment to recruitment and retention of diverse library faculty and staff • Demonstrated strength in interpersonal and communication skills in a campus-wide environment • Demonstrated knowledge of the academic environment and the role of libraries in support of teaching, learning, and scholarship • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships among and between all library users and stakeholders • Demonstrated experience in the management of fiscal resources • Demonstrated active and productive involvement at national level in professional activities pertaining to academic library services • Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging library and information technologies, including technologies related to digital libraries, resource sharing, metadata, and electronic resource management.
