Job Description

Lafayette Public Library is looking for energetic, positive, proactive, and curious customer service associates to work at our lobby and computer lab service points.  

16 hours/week, including one night per week and one full weekend per month

  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a courteous, positive image of the library when interacting with customers and staff
  • Provide information to customers in person and on the phone
  • Answer questions regarding library policies, procedures and records
  • Maintain customer and staff confidentiality
  • Accept payment for fines and fees
  • Check-out Materials
  • Create and update customer records using the Sierra Integrated Library System
  • Assist customers with the use of library equipment and resources, including computers, e-readers, the online catalog, the internet, databases, printers, scanners, photocopiers and emerging technology
