Job Description

Southern Utah University’s Sherratt Library invites applications from individuals with vision, creativity, energy, and initiative for a position driving the University’s open textbook initiative.  Works with faculty and departments adopting open textbooks. Reviews syllabi and assignments, tracks adoptions, effect on student learning, and fiscal savings for students. Teaching opportunity as well.

Full Time, 10.5 month, four-year term, non-tenure track faculty appointment.

Additional Info & Requirements

As stated in the job description, this faculty position is a 10.5 month per year position. This does not mean that the employee takes 1.5 months off at a time, but spreads those non-working days throughout the year to accommodate the needs of the library.  Also, the position is for a term of four (4) years and is non-tenureable. 

Preferred: Experience with institutional repository software, policies, management; experience with small presses, production management, peer-review processes; working knowledge of copyright law, Creative Commons licensing; OER policies and management; information technology-related certifications or second advanced degree in a computer technology-related field; experience or commitment to teaching at the college level (online and/or face-to-face); experience in academic public-service librarianship.
