Job Description
: This position manages acquisitions and collection development needs of the Library in a digital and print environment; develops and implements projects and long-term goals; supervises staff; manages vendor relations, orders and contracts; monitors and allocates funds; manages electronic resources, coordinating with other librarians; works with cataloging staff in support of the automated library system and other tools; communicates with academic programs on collection needs and coordinates liaison responsibilities with other librarians; plans and coordinates collection management activities including assessment and preservation; manages gifts; serves on committees for the Library, university, and other organizations; special projects as assigned.Additional Info & Requirements
Preference will be given to applications with: • Academic library experience; • knowledge of the information marketplace and scholarly communications issues; • experience in electronic resource management; and • knowledge of automated library systems.The Community
Colorado School of Mines is a doctoral-granting public institution for engineering and applied science, particularly in the areas of energy, mineral, and materials science and engineering. The Arthur Lakes Library is a specialized technical library that supports the educational and research goals of the university and serves as a regional center for information in engineering and science.
