Job Description

Responsible for advanced procedures related to Circulation, Reserves and Interlibrary/Intercampus Loan. The position requires a sophisticated competence in various computer systems, including Innovative Interfaces (Sierra), Ares, ILLiad, OCLC, Swift, Microsoft Office and Prospector. Troubleshoots and implements advanced technologies within the department. Develops and maintains statistics for all aspects of Access Services. Maintains high standards of customer service. Mediates stressful situations related to patron concerns. Monitors and safeguards aspects of copyright law related to reserve materials.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Essential:
1. Coordinates and schedules coverage at the circulation desk. 10%
2. Responsible for the implementation of automated workflow; instruction and maintenance of in-house reserves and e-reserves systems. 20%
3. Processes adjustments for fees of overdue and lost items; mediates patron fine appeals. 10%
4. Generates monthly statistical reports for all of Access Services. Under the direction of the Manager of Access Services, establishes statistical reporting for existing and new services of the Department. 10%
5. Participates in the hiring and training of library assistants in Access Services. 5%
6. Assists with the recruitment, training and supervision of 15 student assistants. 5%
7. Produces lists of searchable items in order to maintain an accurate collection. 5%
8. Overseas the creation and upkeep of a procedure and policy manual for all aspects of Access Services. 5%
9. Participates in the daily tasks and operations of Access Services. 10%
10. Manages daily operations of Access Services in the absence of the Access Services Manager. 10%
11. Provides coverage in the absence of library assistants. 10%
Other:
1. Represents Regis Libraries at regional and state conferences and workshops
2. Performs related duties as necessary to support the Regis mission.

Hours:

Sunday 9:45am – 6:15pm
Monday-Thursday 6:45am – 3:15pm

Required Minimum Qualifications:

1. Possession of a BA/BS degree.
2. One-three years of circulation or interlibrary loan experience
3. Evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills
4. Evidence of strong attention to detail
5. Demonstrated organizational and time-management skills
6. Demonstrated service orientation
7. Demonstrated strong computer skills
8. Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse clientele

Preferred Qualifications:

4-5 years experience with a circulation and inter-library loan module of an automated library system.

4-5 years customer service experience
