Job Description
This is a Librarian-Basic position at the New Mexico State Library located in Santa
Fe. As part of the Public Services Bureau, this position provides basic level information services
to library customers. This position must demonstrate initiative and a strong customer service
commitment. This position is responsible for the daily operation of and will assist with
improvements to the statewide interlibrary borrowing and lending system (ILLiad) for small,
rural, and prison libraries in order to effectively meet the needs of library users in New Mexico.
This position also staffs the main reference desk and conducts basic research in order to
respond to information requests. There will be occasional travel around the state.
Due to the available budget allocated for this position the hiring rate will not exceed $18.95 per
hour.

Additional Info & Requirements
Employment is subject to a pre-employment background investigation and is conditional
pending results. Must possess and maintain a current and valid Driver's License. Must possess
and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or
must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued
employment
