Reference, Instruction & Collections Librarian

Position Summary:CFL sees a creative, flexible, team oriented and technologically adept individual to assist in developing a user-centered library that supports the teaching and research mission of the University. This individual will:

  • Provide direct reference assistance to all campus library users in person and virtually.
  • Provide basic and advanced information literacy instruction for general courses and assigned departments, in-person and online.
  • Serve as a liaison to assigned academic departments, assisting with graduate student research and collection development.
  • Provide support for UND’s new Open Access and Open Educational Resources Initiatives. 
  • Work with the Digital Exhibits Working Group to develop exhibits and displays promoting library programs and related initiatives and events.
  • Strong communication and public service skills.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Graduate master’s degree from an American Library Association accredited program.
  • One year relevant academic or research library experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook , Integrated Library Systems, information resource databases.
  • Experience providing reference and research services.
  • Experience in collection development.
  • Successful completion of a criminal history background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using general office equipment.
  • Degree or significant coursework in education or related areas.
