Job Description
- Serves as the coordinator for the instruction team
- Prepares and conducts tours, orientation programs, and tailored lectures for students, staff and faculty
- Works collaboratively with faculty to develop student information literacy skills
- Chairs the Information Literacy Committee
- Develops and updates website content and print publications
- Provides reference assistance to patrons at the Information Desk
- Assists with clerical tasks related to the interlibrary loan process
- Performs routine circulation tasks such as registering patrons, interpreting status of patron accounts, checking in and out library materials, answering inquiries regarding borrower services and policies and accepting payments for fines and bills.
- Assists in the supervision of student employees
- Opens and closes the library on designated days
Additional Info & Requirements
- Strong interest in providing reference and instruction services
- Experience teaching information literacy skills and library instruction
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues, faculty, staff and students
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and an aptitude for detailed work
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Internet
- Customer service experience preferably in a library setting
- Exceptional reliability
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Preferred:
- Subject knowledge in business, culinary or hospitality
- Familiarity with Innovative Interfaces Inc (III)
- Supervisory experience
