Job Description

Performs duties in all aspects of reference services; provides leadership; participates and/or initiates the planning and implementation of policies and new technologies Serves on library and college committees; participates in library projects and cross-departmental teams Coordinates reference services, providing assistance to library clientele, including instruction on effective use of print and electronic resources Contributes to and maintains assigned content areas of the library web pages in support of patron access and usage Supervises reference librarians; responsible for performance appraisals; maintains department schedule; active in selection and training of new hires Conducts needs assessments of customer service and information resources Develops and maintains a relationship with faculty, staff and students to promote support of collection development practices and effective use of library services and resources Develops and presents program and/or curriculum supported information resources instruction (classroom, web-based tutorials, distance learning, etc.); conducts library tours Creates and disseminates print and electronic teaching aids; develops and presents library staff development programs Leads strategic planning initiatives related to collection development and acquisition of print and electronic resources; coordinates acquisition and implementation of electronic resources Works on all PPCC campuses (Centennial, Rampart Range, Down Town Studio, etc.) and evening and weekend shifts as needed Participates in local, regional and national library professional organizations; keeps current with library, academic, technological, and cultural trends Communicates information related to library programs, policies, procedures and services to faculty, staff and students Works closely and cooperatively with a broad user population including faculty and administrators, all areas of library staff, and diverse student users Assumes other duties as assigned
