Job Description

Note: This position is a part-time, 50% position and typically works a schedule of 20 hours per week, from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm weekdays, with some flexibility possible for the right candidate. Nature of Work: This position is a part-time, 50 percent position, and requires an adaptable, detail-oriented person to coordinate electronic document delivery in the morning hours. This position receives incoming electronic articles for our patrons; . scans and delivers articles to other libraries within specified timelines; downloads and prints Rapid and ArticleReach requests and online articles; updates Rapid and ILL requests in ILLiad; assists in training and coordinating the workflow of students in the department; acts as backup in the processing of books for Interlibrary Loan and Prospector; and troubleshoots problems with retrieval, scanning, or delivery of correct articles. While training and guidance are provided, the goal is for the position to have a large amount of autonomy over the above processes.

Additional Info & Requirements

Minimum Requirements: Two years full time (or equivalent) of general library experience involving circulation, shelving, and interlibrary loan which must have included administrative experience with an online library system. Necessary Special Requirement: The University of Colorado at Boulder is committed to providing a safe and productive learning and living community. Background investigations include a criminal history record check, and when appropriate, a financial and/or motor vehicle history. Highly Desirable Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have experience with scanning and delivering articles using Ariel and/or Odyssey; familiarity with bibliographic citation; experience working with ILLiad, an interlibrary loan management system, and OCLC, preferably in a large-volume Interlibrary Loan department; experience with Innovative Interface, Inc. Millennium software; and strong interest in new technologies. Substitution: Two years of course work from an accredited college or university including twelve semester hours of library science course work may substitute for two years of the general library experience, but not for the specific administrative experience with an online library system.
