The Hudson Public Library is seeking a full time Assistant Library Director. The candidate must be passionate about libraries and the future of the information industry, including knowledge of and experience with computer technologies. Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, communication and public relation skills, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office software, are essential.
Hudson (pop. 2,443) is located within the Waterloo/Cedar Fall metropolitan area and borders both cities. The Hudson Public Library serves as an information, resource, and leisure center for the Community of Hudson. The library strives to provide materials, services, and programs that will promote an educated citizenry and enrich personal lives.
The Assistant Library Director position includes overseeing library operations in the absence of the Director, cataloging of materials, and the coordinating of preschool story-time and programming for youth, in addition to routine daily duties and customer service.
Knowledge of public librarianship, with library science coursework preferred. Candidates with comparable skills and experience or related educational attainment will be considered. The hourly wage is $19.00/hr. and benefits include health insurance, vacation, and sick leave benefits as well as paid holidays.
