Job Description

Southern Utah University invites applications from individuals with vision, creativity, energy, and initiative for this full-time, 10.5-month, tenure-track faculty position in the Gerald R. Sherratt Library. The Learning Experience Librarian coordinates, develops and promotes information literacy instruction across the disciplines, F2F and online. As library faculty, s/he will teach library courses, provide one-shot instruction, work at the general reference desk, select materials for assigned liaison subject area(s) and be responsible for other assigned library tasks/services.

Additional Info & Requirements

Required: Experience in information literacy instruction in face-to-face and online environments; demonstrated ability in instructional design and development; ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in an academic environment; ability to work successfully with a wide variety of constituencies including students, faculty, staff, and administration; evidence of ability to work independently and collegially; organizational, written, and oral-communication skills; commitment to effective service for both internal and external clients.

Preferred: Experience with user-interface design/assessment; experience with Web design and video editing software; experience with Canvas or comparable learning management system (LMS) software; experience or commitment to teaching at the college level (online and/or face-to-face); experience in public-service librarianship.
