Job Description

The Missouri State University (MSU) Libraries invites applications from experienced, innovative  candidates with extensive knowledge of children’s literature. This is a new position reporting to the Head of the Infant Through Grade 12 (IG12) Resources area of Meyer Library on the MSU campus. MSU is a dynamic and growing comprehensive university with over 24,000 students, located in Springfield, the third largest metro area in Missouri with a vibrant population of over 500,000.

The Coordinator of IG12 is responsible for outreach, book selection, collection development, and supervision for the Children’s and Young Adult Book Review Board of Missouri (BRB). They will oversee and communicate with volunteer book reviewers and assist with planning and conducting workshops and other programs focused on book reviewing and children’s/young adult literature.  They will provide specialized reference and information services to a broad array of patrons for the IG12 and BRB collections.  Other responsibilities include hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising student workers and a graduate assistant to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of IG12 and BRB.

The successful candidate will foster a positive environment of effective communication and collaboration with organizational staff and volunteers.
