Job Description

The Garfield County Libraries are seeking an individual who is led by the ALA's Code of Ethics to join our team of enthusiastic librarians as Branch Manager for the New Castle Branch Library.

The minimum requirements for this position include a MLS or MLIS degree from a graduate school accredited by the ALA, previous supervisory/leadership experience and knowledge of the principles and practices of public library functions.  This is a full time (40 hours per week), exempt position. The annual compensation for this position starts at $52,000 (DOE), plus medical, dental, vision, and retirement plan benefits; paid vacation, sick, and holidays. Some evenings and weekends may be required.

Garfield County Public Library District has six branches located throughout Garfield County.  Our communities are located in beautiful valleys surrounded by high mountain desert, snowy Rocky Mountains, and several amazing tributaries of the Colorado River.

Garfield County encompasses a geographical area of almost 3,000 square miles of which approximately 60% is federal public lands, and the furthest towns are 60 miles apart from each other. The population density is 19 people per square mile.
