Job Description

This position on the Library's Digital Experience Team supports the operations of our digital library, which consists of several integrated content management, discovery and e-content platforms. The DX team plans and publishes content, administers digital systems, assists patrons in the use of web and mobile platforms, collects and analyzes data, and generally applies the methodologies of User Centered Design to a complex environment made up of many integration points.


Essential Duties

  • Be an information resource assisting patrons via phone and email, primarily with questions about third-party e-content apps. 
  • Assist with projects that support overall operations of the website. Including reviewing and editing content in the CMS and catalog, and auditing content to inform QA.
  • Perform data entry in a room booking/calendaring system, LibCal.
  • Utilize a content management system and other tools to update public-facing information, configure digital touchpoints and update internal information, including web statistics and reports.
  • Support merchandising of library collections by creating and maintaining lists and digital displays.
  • Monitor and evaluate content for timeliness and accuracy.
  • Monitor system statuses and take action as needed.
  • Be a team player who creates web content production - edit and optimize written content and graphics for the web.
  • Develop and maintain technical and process documentation.
  • Position must comply with laws governing patron privacy and confidentiality under CRS24-90-119, and the Code of Ethics of the American Library Association, as well as ADA governing public access to space and technology.

Additional Info & Requirements

  • Must be able to work days, some evenings, weekends and minor holidays as needed. 
  • Offer of employment contingent on criminal background check and education verification.
  • The position will work 10-15 hrs per week during our business hours M-F.  
  • Our projection is the position could be needed through the end of 2019.

Strong communication and customer service skills are needed.
Experience assisting patrons in the use of websites, apps and digital devices preferred.
Experience using a content management system to publish and edit content on the web is preferred.
Familiarity with manipulating and reporting data is preferred.
Intermediate reading, writing, and math skills are required.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar program.
A high comfort level with rapid technological change is necessary and the ability to become familiar with new and updated interfaces as that change occurs.
