Job Description
The Baraboo Public Library, Baraboo, WI is seeking a full-time (37 hours per week) professional Youth Services Librarian to oversee operations of Youth Services Department, planning, implementing, and managing a comprehensive program of library services for children and teens, including outreach. The successful candidate will supervise the Youth Services Department staff, using an integrative collaborative management approach and actively participate on the library management team with the Director and Circulation Manager. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to foster literacy, encourage reading for enrichment and pleasure, provide materials to support education, teach the use of the public library as a lifelong resource, and consistently present the Baraboo Public Library and its resources to the public in a positive manner. This job also includes the opportunity for children’s programming, collection development, working at the Youth Services Department circulation desk, grant writing, outreach via a wide variety of methods, and an opportunity to exercise creativity in traditional and technological library settings.
