Job Description

The Anthropology Section of the University of Colorado Museum of Natural History is seeking a full-time archivist to facilitate project activities on a grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission.

The Archivist manages the day to day activities of the project to organize, rehouse, describe, and digitize the Earl H. Morris Archive. Responsibilities will include:

*Develop workflows and protocols for archives rehousing, descriptions and data entry, and digitization.

*Supervise graduate assistant and volunteer positions.

*Manage archival file and photograph rehousing into archival materials.

*Manage storage furniture movement and setup.

*Describe archival items using Re:discovery archives database.

*Ensure data records, finding aids and other products meet national standards.

*Collaborate with University Libraries to export records to ArchivesSpace.

*Publish finding aids and upload MARC records to online utilities.

This appointment is funded for 1 year, full-time (40 hours/week). Annual salary $55,000. Position is eligible for benefits.

Applicants must have an ALA-accredited Master’s degree in Library and Information Science with a focus or concentration in archives management; Master’s degree in Archival Studies; or a Master’s degree in Public History with a focus or concentration in archives management as well as a minimum of 1 year experience in accessioning, arrangement, processing, description, and preservation of archives, manuscripts, and multi-format collections, including paper and photographic materials.
