Job Description

This is a part-time faculty position within a forward-thinking academic library that is committed to integrating information literacy across the university. This position will support the library’s innovative instruction program during the fall and spring semesters. Additionally, the university’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), a campus-wide initiative, is focused on information literacy. The QEP, GEARUP with Information Literacy, seeks to enhance student learning through the development of information literacy skills and abilities across majors. This position will support the QEP implementation team. Primary Responsibilities: • Develop and deliver instruction related to information literacy concepts. This includes teaching students to evaluate and analyze information sources, skills to navigate research resources, and research concepts specific to various disciplines taught at NKU • Create online learning materials to teach information literacy • Contribute to QEP-related projects, including assessment • Participate in relevant activities and committees within the library • Perform other duties as required Qualifications: - Strong commitment to the educational role of an academic library, knowledge of information literacy concepts, experience with in-person and virtual pedagogy, effective written and oral communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage with a diverse student population. - Master’s degree in library/information science. - At least a year of professional experience in an academic library with emphasis on instruction preferred. - Any candidate offered this position is required to go through a pre-employment criminal background check as mandated by state law.
