Job Description
The University of Idaho Library seeks an Access Services Librarian for a tenure-track, 12-month appointment. This position oversees day-to-day operations and provides active leadership of a dynamic unit that is responsible for circulation, reserves, stacks maintenance, and resource sharing. The Access Services Librarian helps implement department goals and initiatives to further user-centered patron services and resources.
Reporting to the Head of User and Research Services, the successful candidate will: manage, supervise, and oversee access services operations and personnel; analyze and revise access services workflows, policies, and procedures in support of a dynamic, service-centered environment; lead unit efforts to gather and analyze data about library spaces and patron services in support of evidence-based decision-making. The successful candidate is forward-thinking, service-oriented, and a proactive and collaborative supervisor.

| Required Qualifications | • ALA-accredited master’s degree in Library and Information Science • Substantive experience in one or more areas of access services: circulation, course reserves, interlibrary loan, document delivery, or consortial borrowing • Demonstrated proficiency with an integrated library system (ILS) or library services platform (LSP) • Explicit commitment to providing outstanding customer service • Evidence of scholarly engagement in the field of library or information sciences, or other evidence of ability to meet requirements for promotion and tenure |
