Job Description
Coventry Public Library is seeking a part-time Youth Services Outreach librarian to deliver library services throughout Coventry – especially outreach to area preschools/daycare facilities. It is a professional position with primary responsibilities for collaborating with existing contacts to promote library services; maintaining pop-up collections; and delivering Early Childhood Literacy programs, including storytime. The schedule of 18 hours per week is mostly during school hours. Hourly rate is $18.50 with no benefits.
A master’s degree in library science from an ALA accredited library school or a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred. Experience with literacy for young children and programming for that age group is desirable. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
