The Library Associate II - Youth position is responsible for a variety of paraprofessional library work including conducting story times, providing exceptional reading recommendations, and performing research services. This role works within the Children's area of the City's Library Services Division. This is a part-time, 28-hour per week, benefited position. Anticipated hours for the position will be Monday through Friday with some evening hours.
The full salary range for this position is stated above. The starting range of pay is dependent on qualifications and experience of each individual candidate. The City of Westminster offers a bonus of up to $1,000 per year depending on the employee's fluency in Spanish, Hmong, and/or Laotian.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience, Skills, Formal Training, Licenses, and Certifications
Required:
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Graduation from high school or GED
• Two (2) years minimum experience working with children
Preferred:
• Two (2) years minimum experience providing customer service
• Knowledge and love of books for children 0 to 12 years of age
• Spanish
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and skills, may be considered.
