Librarian will work with several cohorts of students to provide in-depth reference research service. All reference interaction takes place via distance communication using email and SKYPE.Additional Info & Requirements
Major Duties and Responsibilities: PROVIDE REFERENCE SERVICE - Work remotely using the JIU library resources to provide reference service to several cohorts of graduate students working on a graduate level degree. INSTRUCTION- Assist faculty in teaching education research. OTHER DUTIES – Work with the head librarian in providing innovative ways of researching online. Design advanced research guides and online tutorials. Also, other duties as assigned. Critical Success Factors: Initiative Creativity Ability to communicate with students and faculty in an on-line environment Knowledge and experience working with secondary education library collections Knowledge of online resources Proficiency in using an online library catalog systems Proficiency in Windows, Word, Internet Explorer, Outlook Proficiency in using email Knowledge of electronic bibliographical citation tools Knowledge of distance education trends and educational tools This Job Description is not a complete statement of all duties and responsibilities comprising this position.The Community
