Job Description

Position Location: 

Position is located in Fort Morgan, CO

Employment Specifics:

Part-Time .50 FTE Professional, 20 hours per week

Position Description:  

This position usually serves as the first point of contact for patrons and requires excellent customer service skills. Specific job duties include, but are not limited to: actively assisting patrons in finding information using print, electronic, and online resources; assisting patrons with technology and computers; performing all circulation duties including keeping statistics, processing holds and overdues, and maintaining patron records; operating and maintaining interlibrary loan service; assisting with collection maintenance and cataloging duties; providing patron instruction; and participating in the planning and development of library operations and services as part of the curricular life of the college. The incumbent must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings.  The incumbent must also be willing to perform duties in a manner that exemplifies the college's guiding principles of integrity, respect, open and honest communication, and collaboration.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • One (1) year general library experience or evidence of similar customer service experience with organizational skills may be substituted for library experience.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must possess strong technology skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite, library research tools, and internet searching.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with the ability to work accurately and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings.
  • Occasional long and irregular hours necessitated by special projects and compliance with deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Familiarity with interlibrary loan service.
  • Ability to learn and use an integrated library system.
  • Experience in providing reference assistance and patron instruction.
  • Experience with cataloging according to national standards.
  • Library experience in a college/university library setting.

Anticipated Start Date:

May 2020                                       

Salary:

$40,500 to $43,000 based on a full-time position, 1.0 FTE position. This position is a .50FTE.  Salary is based on education, skills and experience.  Benefits include health, life, dental insurance, LTD & benefit package in accordance with Colorado Community College and Occupational Education System policies. No relocation assistance is provided.

About Morgan Community College (MCC):

MCC is located on I-76, 80 miles northeast of Denver and approximately 100 miles east of Rocky Mountain National Park.
