Job Description

Garfield County Public Library District (GCPLD) is an innovative organization that values new ideas, diversity, creative solution finding, optimism, and interpersonal respect.  

The District strives to strategically and effectively serve and connect with all segments of the communities in which we're located.  The Community Engagement Coordinator builds lasting partnerships with organizations, groups, and individuals throughout Garfield County.  The Community Engagement Coordinator collaborates well with staff across the District to capitalize on opportunities to bring high quality events to the community and increase resident engagement. 

This position requires at least a two-year degree in marketing, public policy, social work, behavioral science, or a related field of study, and at least two years work experience in one or more of these fields; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced computer skills including extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Internet, and email; and skilled using a digital camera.  One year of library experience and bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

This is a full-time, 40 hour per week, non-exempt position.  The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $21.50/hr. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and employer contribution to retirement fund; paid vacation, sick, and holidays.

Rifle, Colorado is home to approximately 9,700 residents and is located in Garfield County on Interstate 70 about 185 miles west of Denver. Garfield County encompasses a geographical area of almost 3,000 square miles of which nearly 60% is federal public lands, and the furthest towns are 60 miles apart from each other. Head west from Rifle about an hour toward Palisade and Grand Junction to experience Colorado's wine country, the Grand Mesa, and the Colorado National Monument.
