Job Description
Emporia Public Library is seeking a knowledgeable Technology Support Specialist who will perform essential duties with the library computers and computer-based functions. This position is responsible for the development, design, installation, maintenance, and coordination of technology for the library, and for strategic planning which anticipates the needs of the library patrons and staff. Assists and instructs patrons and staff in the use of library resources, including online databases, Internet websites, and basic and advanced computer applications. Informs staff of new and upcoming technology-based trends. Work is performed under the direction of the Library Director and the Assistant Library Director.
This is a full time 40 hour a week benefited position. The successful applicant must be available to work nights and weekends. High school diploma or equivalent is required, Bachelor’s degree in network technology or equivalent experience, three years of experience supporting computers and networks required.
