Job Description

If you can deliver great library services, empower a team of creative and energetic librarians, engage community members, juggle multiple tasks, enjoy dotting every “i” and crossing every “t”, and view libraries as the social and cultural hub of the community, then we are looking for you.  Delta County Libraries seeks two managers, one for the Cedaredge-Hotchkiss team and one for the Paonia-Crawford team, to provide leadership in the community and in the library.  The Manager will focus on encouraging visits to the libraries, circulating our fantastic materials, offering engaging programs, and sharing our digital resources.  Besides leading our dedicated staff, the Manager works closely with the Library District Management Team.

Additional Info & Requirements

This position is open until filled, however, priority will be given to applications received by Monday, August 10, 5:00 p.m.

The Community

Canyons, rivers, and mountains paint the setting of rural Delta County, inspiring its residents to take regular excursions into the outdoors for hiking, camping, rafting, fishing, hunting, skiing, snowshoeing, and more.  Agriculture and mining continue to be prominent industries for the area.  With a population of approximately 30,000, the county has six incorporated communities—Cedaredge, Crawford, Delta, Hotchkiss, Orchard City, and Paonia—that offer diversity of lifestyles and interests.

Delta County Libraries supports five libraries in Cedaredge, Crawford, Delta, Hotchkiss, and Paonia.  The Library District maintains a varied collection of materials in print, audio, and electronic formats, as well as a wide range of technology for on-site and home use.  Each library offers an annual schedule of dynamic programming for all ages including a Summer Reading Program, weekly storytimes, book clubs, technology help, and much more.  The Library District also provides adult education through programming, high school equivalency testing, and English as a Second Language classes.
