William B. Meyer, Inc. is a full-service logistics company that specializes in the relocation of libraries and archives on a national level.

We are seeking qualified individuals to assist in the packing, re-shelving, scanning, interfiling and moving of library collections at the Jewish Theological Seminary Library in New York, NY. This is a temporary assignment beginning on Tuesday, August 11th and ending on August 25th. A second phase of this project will begin the second week of September and continue through October.

Duties Include

  • Pack books onto library carts or into boxes
  • Un-pack and re-shelve collections
  • Push library carts
  • Interfile collections
  • Scan / inventory collections

Requirements

  • Must be punctual and reliable
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Must be able to repetitively reach and bend in order to shelves books on the bottom and top shelves
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be willing to adhere to COVID 19 safety policies and procedures

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Experience working in a library
  • Familiarity with library classification systems
  • Library Science education

Hours of Operation

  • Monday – Friday, 8 am – 4:30 pm
  • Paid Breaks: 15 minutes at or around 10 am and 2 pm
  • Un-paid Lunch: ½ hour at or around noon
