Job Description
Town of Lincoln seeks an Assistant Director. This position is responsible for administrative and professional library work, as well as technology within the town library facility.
The successful candidate will assist the Director and staff in providing the best possible library service to patrons, will have a high technical aptitude and an understanding of the role technology plays in public libraries, and in the absence of the Library Director, assumes responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the town library. Work includes the supervision of all library employees, the implementation of operating procedures in accordance with professional standards of library administration, and carrying out the policies of the Board of Trustees.
Works under the policy guidance and directives of the Library Director and the Library Board of Trustees
Additional Info & Requirements
Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from an American Library Association-accredited program. Several years of public library experience in positions of increasing responsibility. Demonstrated knowledge of library technology including knowledge of reference materials and resources in print and electronic format, standard office computer applications, and current issues and trends in the library profession including emerging technologies.
