Job Description

Garfield County Public Library District (GCPLD) is an innovative organization that values new ideas, diversity, creative solution finding, optimism, and interpersonal respect.  

We're seeking a full-time Education and Events Manager.  This position is responsible for creating and delivering high quality events and classes for adults, teens, children, and families, both in English and in Spanish.  The Education and Events Manager plans all aspects of events including generating ideas, booking presenters, requesting publicity design, and evaluating classes and events.  The Education and Events Manager works independently, receiving minimal detailed supervision and guidance.  The Education and Events Manager directly supervises the Community Outreach Specialist.

The Education and Events Manager strives to provide outstanding customer service to all District staff, maintains an excellent rapport with vendors, treats all individuals within and outside the District with courtesy and respect at all times, and is a team leader and a team player. 

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, hospitality, or a related field and three years' experience in event planning, program coordination, and/or hospitality.

The ability to speak Spanish and previous library experience is preferred. 

This is a 40 hour per week, non-exempt position.  The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.  Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and employer contribution to retirement fund; paid vacation, sick, and holidays.
