Job Description
Role:
Administers Human Resources programs in employment, compensation, benefits, leave, and performance management.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
20% - BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION – Coordinates benefits by communicating benefit details to employees, enrolling employees in plans, conducting renewal and open enrollment, recommending decisions on benefit plan details and pricing, reconciling bills, answering questions, and trouble-shooting problems. (Essential)
20% - RECRUITING – Coordinates the filling of open positions; maintains electronic application files; communicates with job applicants by phone, email, and written correspondence; assists hiring supervisors in using electronic application system; sets up interview appointments and supports supervisors in the hiring process. (Essential)
20% - HRIS ADMINISTRATION – Oversees and operates the compensation, performance appraisal, benefits, and entry of general employee information in the HRIS, and creates reports. (Essential)
10% - LEAVE ADMINISTRATION – Coordinates administration of family medical and other leaves by providing employees notification of rights, facilitating completion of required forms, answering employee questions, tracking leave used and remaining, and other administrative details. (Essential)
10% - COMPENSATION – Conducts job analysis and evaluation, composes job descriptions, evaluates jobs by using market information; forecasts range and merit increases and calculates merit increase in order to administer compensation. (Essential)
10% - BUDGET PREPARATION – Assists with budget development by organizing and evaluating data based upon anticipated benefit costs, wage increases and economic forecasts; maintains current status of employees in the District as compared to formal budget. (Essential)
10% - OTHER DUTIES – Answers employee questions, coordinates work with HR Assistant, participates in meetings and assists with departmental projects to ensure the smooth operation of the department. (Non-Essential)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience:
One to 3 years of related experience
Skill in HRIS and MS Office Suite.
PHR Certification (preferred)
Or any combination of education and experience which provides the success factors.
