Job Description
The Office of Library and Information Services (OLIS) is seeking a Library Program Manager responsible for resource sharing, library services, and digital initiatives.
Position Function Duties
Duties include planning, developing, and managing a comprehensive program of library network services and information resource management on a statewide basis with responsibility for programs such as resource sharing and delivery, library services to the blind and print disabled, preservation and disaster preparedness, and digital initiatives; serving as an advisor to libraries, government agencies and the public regarding program activities; coordinating statewide communications about program activities; and supervising professional staff engaged in the development and implementation of library and information service programs. Strong communication and presentation skills, including oral, written and digital, and an ability to build teams and partnerships are critical, along with strong technology, data analysis, and project management skills and experience with digitization projects.
Other duties: To assist in the development of program budget proposals; to assist in the planning and development of overall administrative policies, procedures and practices; to develop regulations related to program activities; and to do related work as required.

The Office of Library and Information Services (OLIS) is the state library administrative agency for Rhode Island. OLIS strengthens, connects and empowers libraries to advance knowledge, connect communities and enrich the lives of all Rhode Islanders. OLIS has the statutory authority and responsibility to administer state and federal funding and to coordinate and support programs for libraries of all types. It is part of the Executive Branch of state government located in the Department of Administration under the direction of the Chief of Library Services. OLIS works with the Library Board of Rhode Island to establish priorities and policies to carry out its mission.
