JOB OPENING: Head Librarian III – Benson and Kerkhoven (MN) Public Libraries
Pioneerland Library System, a consolidated regional library system located in west central Minnesota, seeks a Head Librarian with successful public library experience to direct and coordinate the activities of two smaller (2) rural libraries. Responsibilities include staff supervision, budgeting, collection development and all other activities related to the operation and management of a library.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Experience with supervising and coordinating the work of library personnel.
· Fundamental knowledge of and experience with library science systems, principles, and procedures.
· Knowledge of current and emerging technologies and their application to library services.
· Demonstrated example of leadership and decision making skills/abilities.
· Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in library science, or a related field, and a minimum of two years work experience including management/supervisory experience in a public library or branch library; or an equivalent combination of education and experience necessary to perform the essential duties of the job.
Master's degree in Library Science is preferred. Recent graduates encouraged to apply.
Position Open Until Filled
HOURS: 40 hours per week. Appointment range: $50,606 - $53,789 per year DOE. Competitive benefit package includes Minnesota Retirement (PERA).
